Parliament Speaker, former President Mohamed is scheduled to travel to Italy after the COP27, announces the Parliament.
In a statement Thursday, the Parliament announced Nasheed will be travelling to Rome from November 10-11 to attend the annual conference of the HABITABLE Project.
“He will be travelling directly from Sharm El-Sheikh to Rome after attending COP27,” said the Parliament.
HABITABLE is an EU-funded project which aims to advance the understanding of interlinkages between current climate change impacts, migration and displacement patterns, and to better anticipate their future evolution.
The project runs for four years (2020-2024) and brings together 21 partners from 17 countries.
The annual conference will gather all participants of the HABITABLE project to discuss the implementation of the project and present results.
Nasheed is an advisory board member of the HABITABLE project.
According to the Parliament, all costs pertaining to the visit will be borne by the University of Liège as the project’s coordinator.
