First Lady: Resolve to keep flame of knowledge constantly burning

First Lady Fazna Ahmed, on Wednesday, encouraged students to resolve to keep the flame of knowledge burning constantly.

Speaking at the first session of Maldives National University’s (MNU) Graduation 2022, First Lady Fazna reiterated the importance of lifelong learning by stating that a person’s credentials only recognize their knowledge in a specific field, and that it does not equate to life wisdom.

“Therewith, graduates, it is important to ensure that you become people who pursue knowledge with the resolve to keep the flame of knowledge burning constantly,” she had said.

She said that the qualifications of the graduating class should be used as a stepping stone to further their knowledge, skills, and talents. The First Lady said that it takes lifelong learning to keep up with the changes in jobs, resulting from the speedy expansion of industries.

“This is as employers will have the guarantee that you possess skills to change directions in light of the changing knowledge,” she added.

In her speech, the First Lady also advised that although one may face different situations and circumstances may arise in the workplace, they must work towards achieving common goals. She emphasized on the importance of getting along with co-workers and working together to deliver quality results.
