India has reviewed its provision relating to tourist visa with an exception of seven countries.
The regulation concerning the two month gap between two visits of a foreign national to India on a tourist visa, has now been revised.
The seven countries for which the two month gap rule is still in place are China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Sudan.
A statement released by the Indian Home Ministry said, “It has been decided to lift the restriction of two month gap on re-entry of foreign nationals coming to India except in case of nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, foreigners of Pakistan and Bangladesh origins and Stateless persons.”
It also said that the decision was made by the Prime Minister’s office earlier this year. Maldivians have been facing difficulties due to the two-month no-entry rule.
