GMR can remain at airport until arbitration begins: Singapore court

The High Court of Singapore has issued an order today saying that GMR can remain at the airport until the arbitration process begins in Singapore.

The court issued this order at a hearing this morning, following GMR’s request filed last Friday to remain at the airport.

A hearing was also held last Friday, however the court did not issue an order then.

Deputy Solicitor General of Attorney General’s Office Ahmed Usham told Sun Online today that the Singapore High Court’s order states that GMR should be allowed to continue as per the contract until the ‘arbitration tribunal’ is established, and the case proceedings are under way.

“An arbitrator was appointed for the contract termination case. The order states that the company should be allowed to proceed as per the contract until the arbitration tribunal is formed. We are assessing this order. We will announce the government’s stand today,” he said.
