Police probe hacking of MACL website

The Police have said that they have commenced an investigation into the hacking of the website of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

A Police Media Official said today that the case was reported to Police on Friday night, and that the investigation is under way.

MACL website was hacked at around 11:00pm on Friday night.

The hackers posted a strict warning message, which was signed off by “Indishell Defacers Team”.

The warning message said: “To Maldives: Stop defaming Indian Reputed Companies & learn how to run a website and secure it first.. If you don’t know how to secure a website, can you run an Airport securely, MACL? WE WILL BE WATCHING YOU! MESS WITH THE BEST & DIE LIKE THE REST!! Don’t ever think of winning a war with us! REMEMBER, We will do anything for India! ANYTHING!”

This message was posted along with a picture of two eyes with the Indian flag.

The website remains suspended since it was hacked.
