Opposition: Economy behind by years when Ramadan arrived

The opposition coalition comprising the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and the People’s National Congress (PNC) stated that when the month of Ramadan ‘met’ with the people, the country’s economy was dragging behind by years.

In a joint statement released to send a greeting of Ramadan 1443, the coalition noted that the country was in grave danger by Ramadan’s arrival.

Noting that things have escalated to the point where the country’s independence and sovereignty were in danger of being harmed, and in addition to this, the country’s economy was in a deep pit.

“Maldivians are facing many obstacles in partaking in religious activities.”

Furthermore, a prayer was included in the statement to save the country and bless the work being done by people to bring back their country.

 Additionally, the coalition sent prayers, wishing for a prosperous and blessed Ramadan for the people.
