Ramadan allowance not dispersed within deadline

Despite the Ministry of Finance and Treasury’s instruction to disperse the Ramadan allowance by Monday, March 28, many employees have yet to receive it.

As per the circular released by the ministry on Wednesday, March 23, each Muslim employee will receive MVR 3,000 as a Ramadan allowance.

However, with the deadline for this being up, many employees working at ministries and hospitals did not receive their Ramadan allowance yet.

When reached out to the media official for the ministry for a comment regarding this, Sun was unable to get in contact.

The Employment Act mandates all Muslim employees working in Maldives be given their Ramadhan allowance before the month begins.
