COVID-19: 1128 new cases; 16,161 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 1,128 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 158,031.   

According to HPA, the new cases include; 155 cases from the greater Male’ region, 806 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 65 cases from operational resorts and four liveaboard cases.

Meanwhile,1,193 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 141,569.   

With the new developments, Maldives now has 16,161 active cases.      
There are 41 patients in hospitals.

4,390 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,076 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 14 percent.

February 11: 986 cases
February 10: 1,406 cases 
February 9: 1,096 cases 
February 8: 1,502 cases 
February 7: 1,567 cases 
February 6: 1,757 cases 

Maldives has recorded 288 COVID-19 deaths.
