COVID-19: 137 new cases; 2,040 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 137 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 90,601.      

According to HPA, the 137 new cases include; 17 cases from the greater Male’ region, 109 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 11 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 126 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 88,119.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,040 active cases.      

There are 15 patients in hospitals.      

2,025 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 818 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent. 

With the 137 new infections on Saturday, 888 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

November 20: 137 cases 

November 19: 124 cases 

November 18: 74 cases 

November 17: 149 cases 

November 16: 118 cases 

November 15: 159 cases 

November 14:  127 cases 

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
