COVID-19: 165 new cases; 2,170 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 165 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 89,529.      

According to HPA, the 165 new cases include; 25 cases from the greater Male’ region, 121 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 19 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 86 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 87,099.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,170 active cases.      

There are 15 patients in hospitals.      

3,133 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 645 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent.

Maldives has recorded 247 COVID-19 deaths.
