Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 247

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Thursday that a COVID-19 patient brought to the Addu Covid Management Facility has passed away.    

HPA identified the deceased as an 81-year-old Maldivian male.    

He passed away at 01:33 am on Tuesday.    

“This is the 247th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” confirmed HPA in a tweet.   

This marks the fourth COVID-19 death in November.   

Maldives has 89,255 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 129 new cases recorded on Wednesday. 86,899 patients have since recovered.      

The country currently has 2,097 active cases. 15 of the patients are hospitalized.
