Maldives Red Crescent sends teams to islands hit by rainstorm

Maldives Red Crescent has sent teams of volunteers to Haa Alif Hoarafushi, Haa Dhaal Hanimaadhoo, and Laamu Gan, three islands most severely hit by the rainstorm currently faced by the Maldives.

The Maldives Red Crescent issued a Press Release today that the teams would work in the islands to provide information on how to prevent diseases and manage hygiene issues at this time, and also participate in cleaning up activities.

The teams would also work with Island Councils in the said islands to survey and assess the total costs of damage caused by the rainstorms. 45 trained volunteer workers are thus working at Hoarafushi for the organization.

Red Crescent teams are visiting door-to-door to conduct awareness programs about prevention of diseases.
