COVID-19: 82 new cases, 53 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 82 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 84,103.    

According to HPA, the 82 new cases include; 29 cases from the Male’ region, 53 cases from residential islands outside of Male’ region, and four cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 107 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 82,208.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,653 active cases.      

There are 18 patients in hospitals.      

4,172 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,544 from the greater Male' region.

September 20: 79 cases 

September 19: 82 cases 

September 18: 162 cases 

September 17: 84 cases 

Maldives has recorded 229 COVID-19 deaths.
