COVID-19: 152 new cases, 29 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 152 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 79,289.      

According to HPA, the 152 new cases include; 29 cases from the greater Male’ region, 83 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 40 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 96 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 77,373.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,682 active cases.      

There are 17 patients in hospitals.      

5,660 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,386 from the greater Male' region.    

With the 152 new infections this Monday, 825 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

August 16: 152 cases 

August 15: 137 cases 

August 14: 74 cases 

August 13: 111 cases 

August 12: 125 cases 

August 11: 116 cases 

August 10: 110 cases 

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
