COVID-19: 81 new cases, 20 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 81 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 76,627.

According to HPA, the 81 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 44 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 17 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 85 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,795.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,601 active cases.

There are 18 patients in hospitals.

4,863 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 81 new infections this Saturday, 661 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 24: 81 cases

June 23: 92 cases

July 22: 122 cases

July 21: 144 cases

July 20: 169 cases

July 19: 140 cases

July 18: 63 cases

Maldives has recorded 219 COVID-19 deaths.
