COVID-19: Maldives records 246 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 246 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 70,077.

According to HPA, the 246 new cases include; 88 cases from the greater Male’ region, 137 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 13 cases from operational resorts, and 8 cases from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 2,273 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 58,832.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 11,041 active cases.

There are 97 patients in hospitals.

4,788 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 246 new infections this Saturday, 2,539 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 8: 370 cases

Maldives has recorded 195 COVID-19 deaths, including three fatalities this Saturday – an 84-year-old woman admitted at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility, a 94-year-old man admitted at L. Covid Management Facility, and a 25-year-old woman admitted at Dharumavantha Hospital.
