Woman dies from COVID-19 in Dhidhdhoo

An elderly woman has died from COVID-19 in HA. Dhidhdhoo.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed the death, and has identified the deceased as an 83-year-old Maldivian female.

According to HPA, the woman was brought to the regional hospital in Dhidhdhoo on Saturday morning.

She was declared dead at 08:45 am.

"This is the 94th COVID-19 death in the Maldives," said HPA.

Maldives has been experiencing a sharp rise in COVID-19 infections along with an escalation in fatalities. Two fatalities have been recorded so far this Saturday, following five fatalities on Friday.
