Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Saturday that a patient admitted to Hulhumale' Medical Facility has passed away.
HPA identified the deceased as an 87-year-old Maldivian male.
He was declared dead at 01:39 am.
“This is the 93rd COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.
Maldives has 42,775 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including
1,467 new cases recorded on Friday. 27,672 patients have since recovered.
The country currently has 15,003 active cases. 290 of the patients are hospitalized.
