SAARC Secretary General meets HRCM

Secretary General of SAARC and former President of the Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM), Ahmed ‘Nanreethi’ Saleem, has met members of HRCM.

HRCM said that the meeting took place last Thursday at the Commission, and that discussions were held on the Charter of Democracy agreed upon by leaders SAARC leaders at the SAARC Summit held in Bhutan in 2010.

Discussions were also held on cooperative efforts by regional civil society organisations in strengthening democracy and human rights.
