Severe weather expected for all areas of country this week

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has announced that the country could experience bad weather for the remainder of the week due to storms formed over the North East of the country.

A statement issued by the Met Office read that the country could experience heavy rains due to the storm clouds formed over the country.

A low-pressure trough formed over the South of the country was also causing storm clouds to form over the area. The country is experiencing the effects of the rainy season.

Met Office stated that the majority of the country could experience thunderstorms for this week.

Seas could be rough with strong winds in the South and Central region. Met Office requested travelers to remain alert for the weather during this time.
