Kulhudhuffushi Dhekunu MP Mohamed Nasheed has said that nobody seems to be concerned that the Parliament is halted.
Nasheed said this in an interview with Sun Online today.
He said that the discussions held to solve this problem are useless, and that people are not sincere in their efforts to resume the Parliament.
Nasheed referred to the concern raised by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in relation to whether MDP is the current opposition party; and said that identifying the opposition party is of no relevance in a presidential system; rather, what is important is the identification of majority and minority leaders.
Nasheed stressed that Parliament sessions can be held by forcible removal of MPs who contribute to loss of order in the Parliament hall, similar to how it has been done in the past.
