The Sri Lankan government on Friday imposed a 2 1/2 day curfew across the whole island in a bid to contain the spreading of the coronavirus.
The number of positive cases has risen to 59. The curfew will be in effect from Friday 6.00 p.m. until Monday 6.00 a.m.
243 suspected COVID-19 cases are currently being treated. The country also stopped air travel and closed the Bandaranaike International Airport, as a measure against the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the country.
The Sri Lankan government has also previously announced that government offices barring essential areas will be closed until Thursday the closure of schools.
