Met Office expecting warmer weather for Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has stated that the country will experience warmer weather, compared with other years, during the hot season of 2020.

The Maldives experiences warm weather during the months March and April and in a statement issued today, the Met Office stated that the temperature of the country stood around 0.5 degrees higher than average at the beginning of March.

So, warmer weather higher than average is expected for the hot season of 2020.

Records also show that the country experienced warmer weather in recent years, attributed to climate change.

Temperatures will begin to subside in the middle of May when the wet season begins.

The Maldives experienced the warmest temperatures on May 19, 1991. The weather service office in Kadhdhoo recorded temperatures of 36.8 degrees Celcius.
