MDP temporarily withdraws from Leaders

Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) National Steering Committee has announced its decision for MDP to temporarily withdraw from the Leaders’ Dialogue.

MDP’s website states that this decision, made at the 125th meeting of the Steering Committee, comes not with the intention of not participating in the discussions, and stressed that MDP will always welcome and support the principles of dialogue.

MDP’s Spokesperson Imthiyaz Fahmy said that it is not possible to reveal the reason behind this decision, and that the information is available on their website.

Fahmy also said that the decision was made unanimously by the members present at the Steering Committee meeting held today.
