Fuel leaked on runway from Mega Maldives airplane disrupts operations

Flight operations were disrupted at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, when hydraulic fluid leaked on the runway from a Mega Maldives airplane which was scheduled to depart last Sunday.

GMR’s CEO Andrew Harrison said that it took some time to clear the fluid from the runway, which meant that a Singapore Airlines flight had to delay its landing.

Sun Online understands that the Singapore Airlines flight landing was delayed by about twenty minutes, and its departure was delayed by about one hour.

The Mega Maldives airplane was repaired and has departed from the airport.

It has not yet been possible to contact Mega Maldives in relation to this issue.
