Police raid massage parlour, arrest four

Police have raided a massage parlour named Sondor Bon Beauty Care and Salon located in H. Philadelphia in Male’, and arrested four people.

Police entered the building at around 20:00 last night, and took three Thai women and one Maldivian man into custody at around 23:30.

Crowds had gathered in the area as the Police took the people out of the building.

This is the first massage parlour raided by the Police since Ramadan.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said that since the change of government on 7 February, the Police have closed down 21 brothels in Male’ and arrested 81 people.

Police have seized MVR63,000 and $2,640, and deported 43 foreign nationals in relation to these crimes.
