Parliament Speaker and former President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed has stated that he can only attend events if the travel arrangements including tickets and accommodations are arranged by the inviters.

Nasheed was speaking at today's parliamentary session when he announced that he will be departing today to take part in the Adex Dive Expo held in Mumbai, India. The Speaker also stated that he will return in time for the next Parliamentary session.

Speaking more about his trip, the Speaker stated that his decision to take part in the fair was due to the connection the event has with the Maldives. He also announced that he had been asked to speak at the event by the organizers who invited the Speaker to the event.

Nasheed then stated that since the travel budget of the Parliament was low, he had informed the organizers that he can only attend the event if all the travel arrangements and accommodations are arranged by the organizers.

"I believe that this is something that everyone should be informed and aware of. If you would like to invite the Speaker of the Parliament to somewhere, return tickets and accommodation should be provided, then only can I attend the event or place." said the Speaker.

This is the 25th Adez Dive Expo and the first time the event is being held in India. The Expo will run from tomorrow until next Sunday and will be taken part by the environment and climate experts from all over the world.
