Committee recommends parliamentary vote to dismiss Shaheeb, Zaina from BroadCom

The Independent Institutions Committee of the Parliament charged with investigating the allegations against members of Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) has passed a motion to call for a parliamentary vote to dismiss the commission’s president Mohamed Shaheeb and vice president Fathimath Zaina.

The motion was passed with the unanimous consensus of 10 members who attended the committee’s meeting this Wednesday.

The motion to initiate impeachment proceedings against Shaheeb and Zaina was proposed by Velidhoo MP Abdulla Shafeeq and seconded by Biledhdhoo MP Ahmed Haleem (Dhonbiley).
