The government has condemned the statements made by former President Mohamed’s Nasheed’s representative in the Commission of National Inquiry (CNI), Gaha Ahmed Saeed, that he is not satisfied with the CNI’s draft report.
Government Spokesperson Abbas Adil Riza said that Saeed’s comments before the report is publicised, are in violation of the Agreement made with the Commonwealth by the government and former President Nasheed.
“Nasheed would be aware, that any fair report would detail the illegal activities that were conducted by him. So he is trying to create unrest in Male’ through his own representative in the CNI,” Abbas said.
Saeed told reporters this afternoon that the draft report of the CNI does not include parts of several interviews which had been provided to the CNI.
