A group of violent thugs have attacked two police officers in Malé, the Capital of the Maldives. In this incident, two officers patrolling in the Majeediyya Diamond Jubilee Carnival area were attacked last night around 7 pm.
A police media official told Sun today that the attackers were near Dolphin View café at the Carnival, before they spotted two officers on duty and came after them and assaulted them. He also said that there were some 20 thugs in the group.
No details about the attack or any injuries to the officers have been disclosed.
However, the police did say that two persons were arrested afterwards. The police did not give any specifications about those two persons, except that one of them was 18 and the other 19 years of age.
The police also said that the matter was being investigated.
