Motorcycle hits pedestrian after fleeing from Police

A motorcycle has collided with a pedestrian in a serious accident, after the man on the motorcycle snatched a mobile phone from a foreign national and tried to flee the Police.

Police have informed that the motorcyclist was a 21 year old man, with a 17-year-old in the backseat. They were both injured in the accident.

The 43-year-old pedestrian, who was waiting outside Justice building, suffered a serious head injury following contact with the speeding motorcycle. Doctors have advised to take him abroad for medical treatment.

The two men on the motorcycle snatched the phone from the foreign national near Nazaki Traders on Majeedee magu.

Police have arrested the two people and returned the phone to its owner.
