Ministry of Islamic Affairs have declared that the Eid al-Fitr will be on 15 June, Friday.
Following the ceremony to confirm the moon tonight, the decree by the Ministry said that with no Islamic country confirming the moon for the month of Shawwal, it has been decided that this Friday will be Eid.
The decree said also wished the Maldivian people a Happy Eid.
The government has made public holidays out of the coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
