Raajje TV station cables destroyed

A group has vandalised Raajje TV station located on the second floor of Queen of the Night building on Boduthakurufaanu magu, and destroyed several cables in the control room.

Sharp objects such as scissors were used to cut the cables.

An official of Raajje TV said that the TV station was vandalised last night, and that the on-air cables were destroyed beyond use.

The damage was discovered this morning when they arrived for work.

He added that it was an attack to ensure that the station stops its transmissions.

“They entered by cutting the power of the lift and the entire floor. When there is a power cut, all doors to the office will open because we have an electronic lock system,” he explained.

When Sun Online reporters arrived at Raajje TV station, a Police Forensic Team was active at the crime scene obtaining fingerprints.

Raajje TV officials said that they reported the crime to the Police at around noon today.
