Foreign Secretary, Ahmed Sareeru has said that the Maldivian government is ready to work with it's international friends.
The Foreign Secretary made the remarks at his meeting with the Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Akhilesh Mishra. India has called to end the political unrest in the Maldives.
At the meeting, Foreign Secretary Sareeru shared the latest on the political situation in the Maldives. And said that the Maldives is ready to work with it's international friends to resolve the situation. The Foreign Secretary told the Indian Ambassador that the Maldives is ready to work with India.
The Indian Ministry for External Affairs issued a statement yesterday regarding the situation in Maldives.
The statement said that the Indian government hopes the state of emergency in Maldives would not be extended and return to a democratic rule as soon as possible. And that would erase the doubt and uneasiness with the Maldives among the international community.
