Boat carrying 19 wrecks on reef outside Fulidhoo

Dh. Atoll Niyama Resort supply boat “Marco Polo” has wrecked on a reef outside V. Fulidhoo.

The 90-foot boat was travelling from Niyama Resort to Male’ City with 19 people – including a woman – when it wrecked on a reef, three nautical miles south of V. Fulidhoo in the early hours of this Thursday.

No one was harmed in the incident.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the incident was reported to the authority at 5:20 am.

The authority said it was working on sending the 19 people onboard the boat to Male’ City on the Fulidhoo sea ambulance.

All 19 people are in safe health, reports MNDF.
