Health Minister: Entire opposition cannot agree on one candidate

Health Minister, Nazim Ibrahim has said that the Presidential Election can be won by those working with the same mentality and the oppostion parties cannot bring forth a candidate that they all agree upon.

Speaking at the "Heyyosa" PPM event in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo last night, Minister Nazim said that the opposition shows no indication of working together.

The Health Minister said that every country faced different challenges when the multi-party system was introduced to them and now we see the same thing in the Maldives. And the Maldivians were blessed to stay together thanks to a united Islamic faith.

Minister Nazim said that ten years of multi-party system in the Maldives have taught a number of lessons but the sad thing is a group of people attempting to destroy the fundamentals of the Maldivian Constitution in the name of democracy.

He said that the MDP Leadership that ruled the country before now lives abroad and that is very unfortunate indeed.

Health Minister Nazim also said that we need the mentality of staying in the country to serve the country and the people as they wish it. Otherwise, the people cannot accept the services.
