A fire incident took place in a house inhabited by a Maldivian family located at Dhehiwala, Sri Lanka last Friday night.
The fire took place at approximately 11:30 pm. No one was harmed in the incident.
An official from the Maldivian embassy in Sri Lanka reported to “Sun” this Saturday that the embassy officials went to the scene and provided assistance to the Maldivian family as soon as it received news of the fire.
The official said the family has been provided housing elsewhere with the assistance of the embassy.
The fire took place on the second floor of the building inhabited by the Maldivian family.
Approximately 15,000 Maldivians live in neighboring Sri Lanka – most of them at Dhehiwala.
