E-learning platform for teachers in the islands for further training has been introduced.
The E-learning platform developed by the National Institute of Education (NIE) and UNICEF, "Edu-Dhaala" was launched today by the Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham at the STELCO Auditorium.
Speaking at the ceremony, State Minister of the Education Ministry in charge of NIE, Naahid Mohamed Rashaad, said that the most important thing to education is quality human resources accustomed to the syllabus.
He said that the biggest challenge so far has been teachers having to spend their holidays on an expensive trip for training. But the learing platform launched today would serve as a solution to that problem.
NIE said that the E-learning platform launched today would have the information on the available courses.
Highlighting the rise of the E-learning platforms in the world, Minister Dr. Shiham said that instead of traveling for education, education and training has to come to the recipient.
And with the nation wide culture of internet, the medium is very appropriate for the country.
