Maldives Police Service has summoned the MP for Hithadhoo constituency, Ali Niyaz accused of obstructing the duties of the military.
Talking to Sun Media today, MP Niyaz said that he has been ordered to appear at the police at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
He is being summoned for his involvement in relation to the obstruction and assault on military personnel inside the parliament chamber on 31 July 2017.
The MP for Nolhivarum constituency, Hussain Afeef and the MP for Mid-Henveiru constituency, Ali Azim were previously summoned in relation to the same case.
Their passports were also frozen along with the other MP accused of involvement, the MP for South Galolhu constituency, Ahmed Mahloof.
MP Mahloof's passport was frozen while he was in Sri Lanka.
