The former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abdulla Fairoosh has appealed the decision by Maldives Police Service to dismiss him.
“Sun” has been informed that Fairoosh was dismissed from his post last Wednesday, October 25.
He was dismissed for alleged anti-government comments made in social media posts.
The appeal process is yet to start.
Police media official refused to make any comment regarding the reports to media.
Maldives Police Service recently dismissed Chief Superintendent of Police, Mohamed Riyaz from his position. And Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hussain Adam has been demoted to the position of Chief Superintendent of Police.
