Foreign Minister meets EU delegates

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Asim has met with the visiting delegates from European Parliament.

The meeting took place this Monday.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted that the delegates from European Parliament called upon Minister Asim this Monday. And that both parties discussed Maldives cooperation with the EU on matters of mutual interest. No details of the meeting have been released by the ministry.

The European Parliament’s delegation consists of four members. The delegation met with opposition politicians for discussions last Sunday night at Hotel Jen.

Members of opposition parties; Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Jumhoory Party and Adhaalath Party attended the three-hour meeting.

Deputy Leader of Adhaalath, Abdulla Riyaz tweeted after the meeting that the opposition politicians shared their concerns with the delegation, and requested the EU’s support for an all-inclusive, free and fair presidential election in 2018.
