South Asian Travel Awards, organized by High Rise, is one of the biggest travel awards in the region, with top travel brands operating in Asia vying for the awards.
High Rise reports that top travel brands operating in India which are competing for this year’s awards are; The Leela, Thaj Whitefield, Forest Canopy, Intersight, Mulberry Holidays, Holiday Kerala, Courtyard Marriot, Fragrant Nature, Sheraton Grande and Spice Jet.
Brands from Sri Lanka competing for the awards include; Cinnamon Hotels, Movenpick and SriLankan Airlines.
Meanwhile, brands competing from Nepal and Bhutan include; Shangri La, Barahi, Mulberry, Himalaya Airline, Annafurna and Tashi Namgay Resort.
Brands nominated from the host, Maldives are; Soneva, Amilla Fushi, Jumeira, Villa Hotels, LUX, Adhaaran Hotels, Voyagers Maldives, Inner Maldives, Cocoon, John Keels Maldives Resorts, Summer Island, En’boodhoo and Maldivian Airlines.
The gathering of top international travel brands to Addu City, where the SATA 2017 will be held, is expected to promote the city’s travel and tourism industry. The event is expected to be a tourist fiesta for hotels, resorts and guesthouses in the city.
The first edition of SATA was held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel in Sri Lanka in 2016. This year’s event will be held at the Equator Village in Addu City from October 27 – 29.
Over 450 brands operating in the region have been nominated for awards in 34 categories and 10 segments.
High Rise reports that invitees from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan who are participating in the event will be arriving in Gan, Addu City on October 26 and October 27. Invitees from Maldives will be arriving in Addu City on October 27.
