A 17-year-old boy has been injured in a gang attack that took place in Laamu Gan last night.
Police Media Official told Sun Media that an attack in Laamu Gan was reported to the police around 9:12 p.m. last night and that a 17-year-old boy was being treated at the Gan Regional Hospital.
The official said that an arrest has been made in relation to the crime and the child's condition is improving.
Vice President of the Gan Island Council, Ahmed Shaheen told Sun Media today that the boy injured in the attack last night was from Mukurimagu ward of the island and the people of that ward suspect that the attack was carried out by a group from Thundee ward.
He said that there were two boys that were targeted but the other one ran away when four people drove up on two motorcycles to carry out the attack.
Shaheen said that the boy injured in the attack sustained various degrees of injuries to the hands and face.
