Driver arrested for molesting boy in taxi

A taxi driver in Malé City has been arrested for molesting a small boy inside the taxi.

Sources say that abuse took place on Wednesday night.

Maldives Police Service has arrested the driver and cordened the vehicle. Officers have been posted at near the taxi parked on Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the FSM Petrol Station since the night of the abuse.

Police have made no comments regarding the investigation as of yet.

Under the special regulations against child molesters, those convicted of the crime face huge punishments included a prison time of 10-25 years.
