20-year-old arrested; drugs hidden inside his boxers

A young man has been arrested from Maradhoo, Addu City for suspected drug trafficking.

Police issued a statement this Tuesday, which said the suspect, a 20-year-old man, was arrested from a restaurant in Maradhoo last Friday, October 13, after drugs were found on his person.

The authority reported the suspect was searched based on information received by Police Intel.

18 rubber packets containing what is believed to be a narcotics substance was found inside the elastic of the suspect’s boxer shorts, said the police.

Hithadhoo Magistrate Court has remanded the 20-year-old to 15 days in police custody.
