5 more suspects have been charged over the murder of Mohamed Anas from R. Meedhoo – stabbed to death inside the Litus Service Center in Male’ City on July 31.
An official from Prosecutor General’s Office who spoke to “Sun” said two of the suspects were charged with murder, and three with being accessories to murder.
Suspects charged with murder:
- Usman Shareef, M. Dhimishq in Male’ City
- Ahmed Zayan, Asurumaage in Lh. Kurendhoo
Suspects charged with accessory to murder:
- Junaih Abdulla, Nanreethige in Thundi, L. Gan
- Hassan Masoodh, Western Villa in S. Feydhoo
- Simah Moosa, Dhafthar 1746
An official from Juvenile Court who spoke to “Sun” last Wednesday confirmed a 17-year-old boy has also been charged with Anas’ murder.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the cases of two more Anas murder suspects; Mohamed Shaz from Gulfaamuge in Th. Kinbidhoo and Afrah Abdul Razzaq from M. Lonumidhilige in Male’ City – who were recently captured while in hiding.
Anas, a young boat captain, was attacked by a group of masked individuals, at approximately 9:15 pm on July 31.
The was dead when taken to the hospital.
