Maumoon's gratitude to President Yameen after Faaris transferred to house arrest

Former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has sent his gratitude to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom after the MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Faaris Maumoon who was in jail under suspicion of bribery was released to house arrest.

Maldives Correctional Services transfered MP Faaris to house arrest after saying that it was to make repairs at the Maafushi Prison. Former President Maumoon expressed his gratitude to the President via Twitter.

MP Faaris is charged with misrepresentation of authority, for hosting a press conference in the name of PPM, and bribery, in an attempt to influence the no confidence motion against the Speaker of the Parliament.
