Suspect in the murder of Anas remanded by 15 days

The 21-year-old Afrah Abdul-Razzaq who was arrested yesterday in connection to the murder of Mohamed Anas (Raa Meedhoo), that took place inside the Litus Service Center on 31 July 2017, has been remanded by 15 days.

Police arrested him at Mahchangolhi Never Corn near Masjid al-Jalaaludheen with a court order and executed a search warrant at the address.

The other suspect in the crime, Mohamed Shaaz (Thaa Kimbidhoo) was arrested earlier.

Police have previously arrested a group of people in relation to the crime in August 2017 as well. And they arrested a minor with another person at Maafannu Dhimishq with a court order.

A launch captain in Raa atoll, Anas, was murdered by masked assailants.

Speaking at a press conference at the Iskandharu Building, Chief Station Inspector, Mohamed Saamih said that 99 percent of the investigation has been completed and is now in the final phase.
