RajjeTV fined MVR 500,000 after Mustafa calls for a coup on-air

RajjeTV has been fined MVR 500,000 after Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa called out for President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to be pushed out of office on-air, during one of its shows.

The statements were made by Mustafa during a show on RajjeTV on July 28.

Police allege Mustafa called out for the people to turn to the streets to push President Yameen out of office, overthrow the legitimate government of the country, and incited the people to commit unlawful acts.

Mustafa is currently under investigation for the comments.
