Maldives Police Service has said that they have enough to convict those responsible for the murder of Nadheem Abdulraheem (Nadey), Haa Alifu Thakandhoo.
Speaking at a press conference on the muder, the Senior Investigating Officer at the Major Crime Management Center, Chief Station Inspector, Mohamed Saamih said that charges have been pressed against four people and is now being processed at the Criminal Court. He said that one of them has been charged with first degree murder and the others are charged as accomplices.
Chief Station Inspector Sameeh said that the four people charged in the crime are Mohamed Mafaaz (Malé City), Hussain Shaamih (Raa Innamaadhoo) and Ali Naafiz (Laamu Gan) along with a minor.
Sameeh said that over 60 hours of video footage was analysed to identify the suspects. And the investigation have learned that the killing is related to the series of attacks in Malé City.
He said that two people entered the café to attack Nadheem with a kitchen knife after confirming that he was there. The knife was removed from Nadheem's head by a person inside the café at the time of the attack.
Nadheem, 24, was stabbed by a group of masked men while having a drink inside a café located in Lonuziyaaraih Magu in Malé City on 27 July 2017.
